VVA - Vietnam Veterans of American Chapter 937

A Little Bit About Us:

Mission

Our goals are to promote and support the full range of issues important to Vietnam veterans, to create a new identity for this generation of veterans, and to change public perception of Vietnam veterans. As part of these goals we provide service and support to those who were forgotten and to provide camaraderie to fellow Vietnam Veterans. Our organization has brought some closure to fellow Vietnam
Veterans who lost good friends and family because of the Vietnam War.

General Information
Vietnam Veterans of America (VVA) was founded in 1978, is the only national Vietnam Veterans organization congressionally chartered and exclusively dedicated to Vietnam-era veterans and their families. VVA is organized as a not-for-profit corporation and is tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(19) of the Internal Revenue Service Code. Chapter 937 was charted in April 2004 in the Bryan/College Station,
Texas. The local Chapter 937 of VVA is a group of Vietnam Veterans who are members of the National Vietnam Veterans of America (www.VVA.org). This organization is separate from Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW), American Legion, and any other Veterans Organization.

Our fund raisers allow us to provide funds and services to support local veterans, which has made the Vietnam Veterans name more noticeable. This also makes others to be more aware of all military service men and women, and for the sacrifice our military made for our country. During and After the Vietnam
War, there were many service men and women in uniform who were spit upon and shunned because of what was thought about that war and what was thought their uniform represented.

Our motto: "Never Again Will One Generation of Veterans Abandon Another!"
