San Antonio Area Foundation

Since its inception in 1964, the San Antonio Area Foundation has been a partner in philanthropy with a growing network of dedicated individuals, families, businesses, and community groups. Working together, we strive to successfully address the charitable needs of our South Central Texas home and prepare for tomorrow’s challenges. Established through a trust created in memoriam to San Antonio business leader and philanthropist Nat Goldsmith, the Area Foundation’s mission is to help donors achieve their charitable goals for the greater benefit of the community.

Today, the San Antonio Area Foundation is one of the top community foundations in Texas.  For over four decades, we have significantly enhanced the quality of life of our community by: providing outstanding service to donors producing significant asset growth strengthening community collaboration managing an exemplary grants program. From scholarships to educational programs on environmental issues, support for wounded military heroes to senior social and health care programs, the San Antonio Area Foundation understands and supports solutions to our community’s growing challenges. Join us in creating a powerful legacy and philanthropic spirit supporting generations to come.
